This is one of the best books I've read in at least two years. A love story set in hell. A modern piece of history. I learned how ignorant I am from reading this book, I highly recommend it.
This is an eye-opening account of the horrors happening right now in Syria. By presenting his story through the eyes of sympathetic people trying to live ordinary lives in the middle of a terrible situation, Ismael makes the reader fully identify with the Syrians fighting for simple freedom.
This book tells you what is happening in Syria . I used to watch news and wonder what the heck is going on in Syria because it was all too complicated and it just looked like another Arab problem to me . So I just closed my eyes and blocked my ears and walked away. One day I was reading a newspaper which happened to run a huge campaign to raise donation for Syrian refugees. I thought I really need to find out what is happening in that country and chose this book to start with. It really opened my eyes and broke my heart. My heart goes to Syria an her people.
